retro

updated October 12, 2026

what retro does

retro turns top-level subreddit.reddit.com links into reddit.com/r/subreddit links. Chrome applies one declarative redirect rule on your device. The extension does not collect, log or send your browsing history, page content or Reddit account information.

your settings

Your list of exceptions is saved in Chrome's sync storage. If Chrome sync is on, Google may sync that list across your signed-in browsers under Google's privacy policy. Nothing is sent to idiom.ltd. Exceptions from earlier versions are kept.

permissions

Reddit host access and declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess let Chrome redirect matching Reddit addresses. The storage permission saves your exceptions. There are no content scripts, no remote code, no advertising, no analytics and no extension backend run by us.

other services

After a redirect, Reddit handles your visit under its own privacy policy.

your control

Open the extension's settings to add or remove exceptions. Turn off or remove the extension in Chrome to stop its redirects.

limited use

Information is used only to provide retro's single purpose, redirecting addresses, and its settings. It is not sold or used for advertising, creditworthiness or anything unrelated. This follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

retro is made independently by idiom.ltd and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Reddit.
